I was blown away by the authentic Japanese experience at Onsen Ryokan Yuen. The onsen was absolutely amazing, with both indoor and outdoor baths and breathtaking views. The location was great, with easy access to public transportation and walking distance to many attractions in Shinjuku. Plus, having a 24/7 7eleven and Family Mart right across the street was so convenient. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking a modern yet traditional Japanese experience.

The hotel was beautiful and had a calm and peaceful design. the onsen experience was highly recommended, with amazing views from the 18th floor. the location was good, with a 15-minute walk from the bustling heart of the city. the convenience store just in front of the hotel was also a plus.

The temperature regulation in the room was a bit frustrating, as it tended to be either too hot or too cold. the room size was small, which is not uncommon in Japan, but it was still something to consider for a romantic escape.

The rooftop onsen was definitely a highlight of our stay. the breathtaking views and the option to relax in both indoor and outdoor baths made for a truly rejuvenating experience. Additionally, the hotel's location was superb. It was conveniently close to restaurants and shops, making it easy to explore and find great dining options. the nearby 7/11 was also a big plus for any last-minute needs.

There were a couple of downsides. the air conditioning in the rooms was a bit unreliable, causing it to alternate between hot and cold throughout the night, affecting our sleep quality.

As a solo traveler, I loved the traditional ryokan entrance and lobby. The 18th floor bath with a Shinjuku skyline view was a highlight. The bed was comfortable, and the room got dark at night, making for a great night's sleep. The staff were friendly.

The hotel is located at a walkable distance from the next subway station, Shinjuku JR station and several convenience stores. The room was clean, safe, relaxing, and the staff was very attentive. The rooftop bath and view from the bed allowed for a peaceful and beautiful atmosphere. The delicious tea, nibblies upon arrival and breakfast were enjoyable and there was even a convenience store across the road.

One aspect that could be improved is the small size of the room, which made it hard to organize luggage.
